The SMS UNION is a sanitary piping connection based on the Swedish Manufacturing Standard (SMS). The assembly consists of a plain ferrule, a threaded ferrule, a gasket (seal), and a threaded hex nut. It is extensively used in processing equipment for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, and is commonly found in dairy, brewery, and other food-related processing lines throughout Europe.
